Dettol is an antiseptic brand of cleaning supplies and disinfectant invented in 1876 and produced by UK company Reckitt Benckiser. It is primarily used as a disinfectant and also used against cuts, scratches, or insect bites. The main constituents of Dettol are Chroloxylenol and α-Terpineol. Dettol is sold as a household sanitary cleaner in a variety of different forms, ranging from thin mist spray disinfectant to wipes, and with a number of different scents. Dettol Antibacterial Surface Cleanser and Dettol Antibacterial Wipes contain the active ingredient benzalkonium chloride. Dettol is currently present in 124 countries across the world and is used approximately two billion times a day.
